I'm Alexander Bradford (Brad) Atkins Jr. and I presently live in Norfolk, VA but I grew up in Gloucester Co. My great grandfather was Alexander Atkins who moved from King & Queen in the 1870's. He lived near Cologne at a farm named Sunnyside. He was married four times. My great grandmother was Maria Louisa Winder Atkins from Mathews. His other wives were Chalise Levett, Mary Sarah Crittenden and Sarah Jane (Sallie) Roane.

His father was John Atkins and his mother was Nancy Taylor Atkins.

sister, Molly, age 23. This is inconsistent with the age g
iven to Molly ATKINS in the 1880 census which was age 2 unless the first

!BIRTH/U.S. CENSUS, 1910, Essex County, VA: Molly (note spelling
difference) ATKINS is listed along with her father Ezra C. ATKINS, in the
household of her brother-in-law, Henry COLEMAN, the husband of her
sister, Lucy K. ATKINS. There appears to be a discrepancy in the date of
Molly's birth. The 1880 census should be correct to include Mollie as
age 2, but it is possible that the first Mollie died and a second child
named Molly was born in 1887. This is compounded by the fact that Lucy
K. ATKINS' age was listed in 1910 as 28, making her birth before Molly's,
in 1882. If she was olde
r than the Mollie born in 1878, she should have shown up in the 1880
census also, but she does not.Further research in ATKINS lineage is
