Genealogical Publishing Co, Baltimore, MD 1979, p763: Elizabeth WOOLFOLK (born Spotsylvania County, VA, 2 December 1797, died Boone County, MO, 30 September 1852) moved with her parents in 1811 to Christian County, KY. In that county she married 16 Oct 1832, Thomas BEAZLEY (b. 16 March 1793, Spotsylvania County, VA, d. 11 July 1879, Boone County, MO). Immediately after their marriage they went west and settled in Boone County, MO about 8 miles south of the city of Columbia. Thomas BEAZLEY served as a private in the army during the War of 1812 in the 1st Regiment of VA Volunteers and for years before his death he drew a pension in right of his service. He was a member of the Bonne Femme Baptist Church from the time of his moving to MO in 1823. They had 8 children. | Elizabeth WOOLFOLK

He is predeceased by his wife, Jeannette BEAZL EY YATES; and his elder son, Robert CURRY YATES. "Pop" is survived by his son, Rev. Alexander "Yukkie" and daughter-in-law, Elva B. YATES;his grandson, Ales and grandaughter-in-law, Marjorie CARVER YATES;and their two daughters, Charlotte and Leslie, all of Poplar Springs, Charles City; his grandduaghter Ann YATES Rice and her husband Craig and daughters Stephanie and Melissa, of Chino Hills, CA; and grandon, Robert C. and granddaughter-in-law Diane YATES; their children, David and Jennifer, all of Waco, TX; and grandson Michael C. YATES, of Dallas, TX; two brothers, E. Floyd and Robert C. YATES, both of Powhatan;three sisters, Virginia SHETLER, of Ridgefield, WA, Carrie FENTON and Edna B. EARGLE, both of Charles City.M r. YATES was the oldest surving charter member of Memorial United Methodist Church at Charles City Courthouse. He was an active member of the Charles City Ruritan Club and an avid hunter and baseball enthusiast. In 1991,Mr. YATES was elected t o the Jousting Hall of Fame. Mr. YATES was a long time employee of the Virginia Department of Highways, where he served as County Superintendent from 1940 until his retirement. His remains rest at the Nelson Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave., where friends may call from 12:00 pm to 5:00pm. Remains will then be transported to the Memorial United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm., and where funeral services will be conducted Friday 1 1:00 am December 29, 1995. He is survived by his mother, Jeannette Beazley Yates, and his f ather, Joseph Ashton Yates, of Charles City; his brother, The Rev. Alexander C. Yates, of Norfolk; two sons, Michael C. Yates, of Dallas, TX, and Robert C. Yates, Jr., of Waco, TX; and three grandchildren. Mr. Yates was a charter member of Me morial United Methodist Church, where the funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Leslie G. Goode, on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Micah Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to Memorial United Methodist Church. The casket will be open in church one hour prior to the service.!BURIAL: Writer' witness: The burial of Robert Curry YATES was held at Micah Cemetary, which once was the location of Micah Methodist Epsicopal Church u ntil 1948, when Memorial was formed from four M.E. Churches in Chalres City County. The burial service was attended by members of the VA Air National Guard, who conducted the military portion of the service. PERSONAL NOTE: Lt. Col.
