Home Welcome!Welcome to the Brooks-Craig Family Genealogy Research Site. This site is devised to publicize for your education and use, information regarding the ancestry of the BROOKS and CRAIG families as are known to descend from the late Mr. Lewis Durham BROOKS [View His Record] of Essex County, Virginia. From the British Colonies to the House of Burgesses, from the Civil War to both World Wars, persons found to be related to the BROOKS and CRAIG families have been dedicated to preserving freedom. This site is dedicated to bringing all of those details right to your fingertips. Feel free to download, print, distribute, or add to your own tree any data that you may find here. And don't forget to have fun! About Our SiteThe genealogy research which you can explore while visiting this site was initially gathered by Mr. James Irving BROOKS, Sr. The research was then expanded by Mr. William Irving BROOKS. In addition, Mr. BROOKS also copyed the hard data into GEDCOM format with the help of Family Tree Maker. When Mr. James Adam CRAIG, Mr. BROOKS's first cousin once removed, expressed his interest in the family genealogy records and research, Mr. BROOKS began to share his intellect on the family genealogy. The duo discussed the possibility of publishing the informative data to the internet for the reviewal, criticism, and suggestion of the entire world! Mr. CRAIG assured Bill that the seemingly difficult task was indeed quite simple. Resulting was a completely HTML driven interface which was extremely difficult to update. If difficulty in updating the site was not enough, the fact that the site published details on living individuals was. CRAIG soon found himself diving into the knowledge pool of PHP scripting technology and its interaction with MySQL online databases. He discovered TNG, or, "The Next Generation" genealogy software developed by Mr. Darrin LYTHGOE. He purchased a copy and the pair transferred the data from the old to the new interface. What resulted was a more user-friendly, more interactive, and more easily updated website which you are viewing at this very moment. So, what are you waiting for! Start exploring. See if you can find a relationship you didn't know about. We hope what you find will be correct, but if it's not, don't hesitate to submit a modification suggestion by simply clicking "Suggest" above the record for the individual or family with the error.
